The Esmd-Ext-ServiceStartDate is a custom esMD FHIR resource that captures the date when a service provided by a practitioner in the esMD workflow begins. The ServiceStartDate is mandatory and helps determine the duration of a service by providing a clear record of when a service starts.

When combined with information from the optional Esmd-Ext-ServiceEndDate resource, the esMD System can provide accurate tracking and management of services for practitioners associated with Health Information Handlers (HIHs).
